Help me give my students a magazine to take home after library time. We will explore these magazines during library and then each child will get to take one home.

My Project
When my PreK students come into the library, they are so excited! I would like to use these magazines to supplement lessons as well as teach the students about letters, colors, shapes, and print awareness. By pairing the magazine with a book, I am showing students different forms of print, getting them excited about great topics, and building their background knowledge. I will incorporate these into our library lessons and then send one home with each child along with directions on how to get to the online videos and games to extend their learning.
Sending home these magazines will enable students to bring their learning home.
My hope is that they use the magazine to "teach" someone at home about what they have learned at school. I want each student to feel like they have something to share and give them a tool to share their knowledge with their loved ones. This is so important to their confidence as learners. Whether they are sharing the pictures, the letters, the words, or the concepts, they are actively engaging someone at home and that is so important to their language development. Please help me share my love of learning with my students!
