Help me give my students and other students on the grade daily a printer/scanner/copier & ink and other supplies every teacher needs to help run their classroom & allow students to complete daily projects, assignments, activities, etc.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
For this project, I would like to be able to create back to school supply kits for our students. They will have access to these materials throughout the school day in order to complete assignments/activities and be able to bring them home to complete homework assignments as well. Throughout the school year I've come across many students that said they couldn't do their homework because they didn't have basic materials needed at home (pencils, paper, etc.) so we would send home what we have with our students to help.
My goal is to create personal basic materials / supplies kits that are needed for daily assignments for the upcoming school year and then continue to replenish them as the school year goes on.
Each student will receive a kit to keep in class in their desk and a kit to take and keep home to complete homework assignments. These kits will be given out to each student no matter their financial background so each student is given the same opportunities at the start of our school year and will also make sure none of our students will feel left out or uncomfortable if their family cannot afford all the needed supplies. Students should only worry about trying their best, not that they're without school supplies and then stress if they cannot complete their assignments.
Purchasing a printer/copier/scanner combo will also be a huge help in allowing for further help/assistance with planning, creating materials / manipulatives / study guides / etc.
