This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, resilient, and full of heart. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring their own strengths, stories, and goals into the classroom. Many juggle responsibilities at home while still showing up every day, eager to learn, connect, and grow. They thrive in a space that is welcoming, culturally inclusive, and responsive to their needs—both academic and emotional. To support this, we are requesting a Cereal Bars Variety Pack, Lotus Biscoff Cookies, and Día de los Muertos decorations like papel picado, flameless LED candles, and artificial marigolds.

These items will help create a powerful community moment while reinforcing cultural identity and student well-being.

Snacks like cereal bars and cookies provide a small but meaningful gesture—helping students feel seen and cared for, especially on long days or when meals are missed. The Día de los Muertos materials will be used to build a beautiful cultural altar in our classroom, led by students. This experience lets students celebrate their heritage, share their traditions, and foster respect among peers. Together, these items make our room more than a classroom—they help transform it into a community where students feel proud, supported, and ready to thrive.
