Helping My Students Experience the World with Geography
Help me give my students an education outside of their small town in South Carolina. Using geography resources, students can learn about locations, diverse cultures, and find places that may inspire them to travel to one day.

My Project
My name is Mrs. Kayla Plyler. I am the 2025-2026 beginning teacher of the year at my current middle school. I have chosen to request help in purchasing the continent's carpet as well as lots of poster board! Having the continents' rug in my classroom will help my students locate the countries we discuss and better help them to understand locations and how they can compare and contrast regions.
Most of my students live below the poverty level and may not get to travel out of South Carolina, much less the United States.
By allowing students to create posters while researching countries (along with their cultures), we can allow students to experience different lifestyles and inspire them to travel to some of these places.
