Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a Special Education tutor, I work at a high school with students that love fidgets and recently got their phones put into pouches. They need to keep their hands busy while they tackle their assignments of the day.

My students all have a wide range of IEP qualifications.

Visual, auditory and attention disorders. Some have severe ADHD and others just struggle with severe anxiety. With this playdoh, fidgets, LEGO, and stress balls they are able to decompress and keep their hands busy while they focus their minds on their academics.

All of my SpEd students have general ed classes all day- and my "Learning Center" as a safe place once a day for tutoring and time to chill out from the hectic high school schedule. This is why I think it's important to have all kinds of fidgets and things to keep their hands busy. Idle hands are the devil's playground.
