My Project
Creating a calming area through “Helping Little Hearts Find Calm” will greatly support my students. It will also enhance my ability to respond to students’ emotional needs with empathy and effective strategies, promoting a more supportive classroom environment. For example, when one of my Pre-K students becomes overwhelmed and begins to cry or shut down, having a designated calming space with the SEL Calming Kits will allow me to guide them to breathe, reflect, and regain control. This space will help us implement social-emotional learning practices, improve behavior, and strengthen classroom management—ultimately making our classroom a more calming place and me a more compassionate, responsive, and effective educator.
