This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love my kindergarten students for their endless curiosity, bright smiles, and big hearts. They come to school eager to learn and explore, but sometimes their little bodies need a bit of extra fuel to stay focused and engaged throughout the day.

Providing healthy snacks helps ensure that no child has to learn on an empty stomach.

When kids are well-nourished, they have more energy, better concentration, and a stronger ability to participate in lessons and activities. Snacks also create moments of community and kindness as students share and care for one another.

Sensory items are essential tools that help many of my students focus, self-regulate, and engage more fully in learning. These materials—like fidget tools, textured toys, and calming objects—support children who might feel overwhelmed or restless by giving them a healthy outlet for their energy and helping their brains stay attentive.
