My Project
I am hoping to add diverse books to my classroom library. I want to ensure that my students are exposed to many different types of cultures through literature. It is important that students see their cultures represented in the books they read as well as are exposed to cultures that are different from mainstream culture.
It's way more impactful when a student is able to read a book and the main character is someone who looks like them... that's my goal for my classroom library.
I can still remember the first time I read a book where the main character had my name. IT WAS LIFE CHANGING. I hope to give that to all my students.
