Help me give my students the digital resources from Teachers Pay Teachers that they need to stay engaged interactively on-line.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Hess's classroom raised $155
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach 6th grade Mathematics and Science at a low income city school. We are a Title 1 school and the students receive a free breakfast and lunch daily. Many of our students are economically disadvantaged and are raised by extended family. My students come to school each day eager to learn and I am eager to teach. Since I teach in a city school where budgets and funding are extremely tight and I try to give my students everything they need to succeed. Education changes from year to year and I want to students to be able to keep up with the rigor that they deserve.
This school year is not going to look the same as other school years.
I will be teaching virtually from home and will have to meet the needs of all of my students over a computer and not face to face. Virtual teaching is going to be something that I need to be prepared for to help my students work up to and surpass their academic abilities and succeed as if we were in the classroom learning face to face.
My Project
My district has officially moved to distance -learning model for the first marking period which is until the middle of November. Having a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card would help me connect with my students especially since this is a new group of students who I have never met. Not only will these materials help me connect with my students better but will also help me create my digital lessons so I can make sure to reach all my student’s needs.
By using Teachers Pay Teachers, I will be able to assist my students digitally with virtual lessons such as escape rooms and collaboration with each other so they can get the feels that they are in a “classroom” even if they are not.
I am trying to get my students used to the new normal since we don’t know how long we will be “going to school” virtually. Again, I am trying my best to support my students who are facing the unknown.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
