Helping Hands and Small Hearts: Kindergarten Learners

My Students

Hello! I am a kindergarten teacher in the Ferguson Florissant School District. My students come to school with little or no experience of a school setting. I have students who need help with holding a pencil, recognizing their name, numbers and even letters in the alphabet. What many students come to school already knowing, most of my kids do not. I love the potential that I have to make a difference in my kids lives by providing a rich education. Through your donations my students will get the materials they need to stay engaged and learn while having fun.

My Project

Students are excited to come to school and see all there is to explore and learn. I want to provide activities that are both educational but also fun to do for my kids.

The first experiences at school help children learn to share and work with others.

Having center materials that engage kids in learning with play dough, letters, puzzles etc. can help them develop their social skills. Kindergarten is the building block for how children view school. It is very important that there are materials to support the social and educational growth as well as structures and routines that are being established.
