Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students at HES are resilient, curious, and full of potential. Many come from low-income households and face daily challenges, but they show up eager to learn. As their Case Manager and ELPT, I support a diverse group of learners, including English language learners and students with disabilities. What makes them special is their determination and unique ways of thinking. They thrive when given the right tools and opportunities.
The resources in this project, such as visual aids, hands-on manipulatives, and language supports, will help my students access the curriculum in ways that match their learning styles, increasing engagement and building confidence.
One key resource is the Logitech H111 Stereo Computer Headset. These will be used during small-group instruction and language activities, helping students focus on listening comprehension tasks and speaking practice without distractions.
The Beanbag Seats will provide comfortable, flexible seating, allowing students to choose a space where they feel focused and relaxed. This adaptable seating will support both independent and collaborative learning. The Easel will help facilitate visual learning, allowing students to interact with and contribute to lessons, fostering a collaborative classroom environment.
The Privacy Screen will offer a sense of personal space, helping students reduce distractions and focus better on individual tasks. Finally, the Canopy will create a calming, sensory-friendly area in the classroom, providing students a quiet space to decompress and return to learning with renewed focus.
My goal is to create an inclusive, supportive classroom where every child feels empowered. With your support, these resources will help my students build confidence, stay engaged, and reach their academic goals, providing them with the tools they need to thrive.
