My Project
Each week, nearly 450 amazing students walk into my computer lab eager to learn, explore, and create. I teach kindergarten through fourth grade, including students in life skills and special education programs. My students come from diverse backgrounds, and many rely on our computer lab to build critical skills that will help them succeed in school and beyond.
The headphones we currently have are all falling apart.
Most have only one working ear, missing padding, or cords with shorts that cut in and out. It's frustrating for students and creates a noisy, distracting environment that makes it hard for them to stay focused.
In our lab, students work on computer science standards—learning how to type, code, stay safe online, and express themselves through design projects. Having functional headphones is essential for so many of these activities, especially when listening to instructional videos, completing interactive lessons, or getting audio feedback from their work. This is especially important for my younger learners and students with special needs, who benefit from clear, consistent audio cues.
I’m requesting a 24-pack and a 12-pack of durable, classroom-quality headphones—enough to provide one for each of the 33 computers in my lab, with a few extras for spares when needed. Your support will help give all of my students equal access to the tools they need to succeed, and create a quieter, more focused learning space where everyone can thrive.
