Helping Children Up, When Life Knocks Them Down!

My students need 10 books and learning game resources that can help them learn to deal with the many challenges that come their way.

My Students

Children face many different challenges in today's world. Challenges that they need help handling. Many children are dealing with divorce of parents, low self-esteem, anger, impulse control and a general lack of social skills or knowledge of what good character is.

I work with students in grades K-6th.

We have a high poverty rate in our area. Many students live with grandparents, because parents are on drugs or in jail. We are a public school in a rural area. My students are hard workers, that want an opportunity to excel in life. We have lots of foster kids that come in and out of our school because of a children's home in our town.

My Project

The resources I requested will provide an unlimited amount of help to all my students. I can use the books to have small groups with students that are dealing with a specific need such as conflict resolution, bullying, low self-esteem and much more. I will also be able to use the materials for whole group classes to teach the students about bullies, victims and bystanders. Students have to be taught that they can stand up for themselves and others. The games can be used on an individual basis to help students that need the extra individual time and attention.

I see so many students that are sad and hurting.

They don't know how to change what is happening to them. I want to give them the power to make the right choices and become the best they can. I want to uplift them by giving them the tools they need to overcome everyday hardships!
