This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in an inner-city school. My classroom is a self-contained special education classroom. I have been purchasing most of my supplies myself. My class has students who are non-verbal and having the visuals to go along with texts and the appropriate manipulatives to help these students be able to learn and respond in other ways that are functional and appropriate for their developmental level. These supplies will provide meaningful, hands-on manipulatives that are colorful and appealing to my students. These supplies will help them grow in their rote pre-academic skills such as letter and number identification. These donations will also build on their comprehension skills and allow them to be able to answer questions pertaining to texts and other items that are in their daily lives. These donations will make a huge difference in having materials that are ready and available to be able to work with the children without having to spend so much extra time prepping visuals. I appreciate the support and my students Thank you in advance.
