This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach students who are 12-13 years old in Paul Robeson Community School of the Arts. Our school is located in New Brunswick, NJ. Majority of the students' ethnic background are Hispanic/Latin and New Brunswick is considered a "high needs" district. For the last three years, Chromebooks have been distributed by the district. All of my students have access to Chromebook and internet at home and school. Therefore, most of the projects even before virtual learning have been technology based.

Classes have been 100% virtual in 2020-2021 school year and I have been able to use two screens to work with the students.

This donation will enable me to continue working with two screens to monitor and teach my students once we return to school in March.

My Project

Our District has an app called Hapara which helps students stay focus in class. This also helps teachers connected to the students. Since we have been virtual for the past year, having two screens at home have been essential when teaching 26 students. Having the ability to see students' online activity as well as seeing what the students see on their screen have been one of the most important tools. Having two monitors will help teachers and students with virtual learning. This will help ease running lessons while we return to school.
