My Project
My third graders attend a small, rural school. Most students have never left the state, let alone boarded a plane to unfamiliar lands. That's why I have such a passion for sharing literature in my classroom. Reading opens up the world from the comfort of our desks, taking us on field trips around the world!
This year I'm finally getting my classroom under control by trapping them in a snow globe!
The entire third grade class at our school will be participating in a creative writing unit where they read The Snow Globe Family by Jane O'Connor. They will then exercise their creative muscles by writing about their own adventures and what they would do if they were trapped in a snow globe! The project will culminate where they make a snow globe art project, complete with a photo of themself stuck inside. To make this happen, my students need a 20 book set that will be shared between two classrooms, as well as clear plastic plates and artificial snow confetti to create their snow globe art.
There's nothing that inspires an author like a fantasy world brought to life. Help brighten up our cold winter days with the supplies we need to create some winter magic!
