This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The school year is almost over and we've run out of ink! We have no ink to make copies of our projects or to print assignments.

I teach fifth grade in a Title I school.

With the recent budget cuts, my room is overflowing with nine and ten year-olds. It is extremely difficult to get ink. The children want to see their creativity on something tangible. Right now, I have to scan their work and then save it on a USB to print out at a different location. This wastes valuable instructional time.

My Project

With these essential supplies in my classroom, my students will be able to print out the necessary pictures to add to their writing. This will alleviate the stress on many of my students who have difficulties drawing pictures to enhance their projects. Our ink runs out FAST! With only 32 students in our class, it is sometimes difficult to get our copies quickly through the school copiers. Mass copies are usually easier to print. Having the necessary ink is essential to the basic needs of our classroom. The ink for our classroom will supply our printer with enough ink to last the entire school year! Providing my students with ink for our printer will help them learn with the new Common Core Curriculum.

Our school copy machine only produces copies in bulk at a larger quantity.

Since our students have diverse learning needs, our work is different from all the other classes so we can not always share copies with other classrooms. We need ink cartridges to refill our almost empty printer.
