This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students were JUMPING FOR JOY when we got the box of 6 tablets for our classroom from our generous donors! Those smiles quickly turned into disappointment upon realizing that we didn't have any protective cases to start using them!

I teach 3rd grade at an inner city school, where all students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Our building is one of the oldest school buildings in the city, but we all do our part to make it a clean, vibrant, and safe environment for our students. My diverse students in my class come from all backgrounds and countries, and represent 8 languages, many as English Language Learners! No matter their situation, they have an eagerness in them to learn and grow, which makes me strive even more to bring them the beneficial resources and classroom environment they deserve!

My Project

These tablet cases will be put to use IMMEDIATELY! I kept the project as small as possible to try and get funded quickly. You can only imagine their little frowns when I had to explain that we had to wait a little while longer for our career podcast project. I was so excited to create a project for some needed technology in the room that I hadn't thought about the need to protect our precious resources. As much as I wanted to start using our tablets right away, I know that I didn't want to damage the wonderful gifts 40 donors had given to us! Better safe than sorry!

We will be able to put our precious tablets to use in order to expose students to science career fields they may have never thought about entering before. They will be able to use their tablets safely in order to access career modules online! They will then use this knowledge to create podcasts with partners that they interview. PLEASE help bring the news to my classroom that we can finally use our tablets!
