My Students

Can you imagine darting off the school bus excited to enter your classroom and begin learning for the day? Imagine sitting down to begin your school work, but being unable to focus or sit still. Can you imagine being plagued by the constant need to move around? This is reality for many children.

I teach twenty-one wonderful students in an all day Kindergarten classroom in a high-need community.

They are a beautiful, Malti-cultural group with differing abilities. My classroom is hands- and brains-on, and we love to learn from one another and through music. We love to sing and dance. My goal is to inspire my students to believe in themselves and become lifelong learners. They have made my life brighter, and I would like to brighten theirs in return!

My Project

My students with autism and special needs have the desire to learn as much as the other children. However, sometimes they are distracted by their need to move. The four sit balls I am requesting is the perfect solution to help these precious children perform to the best of their abilities! As children sit on the inflatable balls, their cores are engaged. Often times, just this exertion of energy is enough to calm them. If they still need to rock or move, the sit ball allows them to do that without disrupting others. These balls will help my students feel more successful and boost their confidence!

I believe all students deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential, and it is my goal to help them achieve just that.

These resources will help my students overcome one of the obstacles to their learning. With continuous budget cuts for Ohio schools, we are no longer able to provide students with essential materials such as these. It is only with your help that my students can feel confident and achieve their goals!
