Help me give my students lessons in how to find a rewarding career. A large dry erase board and resource books will be used to teach interview skills, time management (time clock), and career exploration.
My students are just figuring out where they want to go in life. We have been working hard on career exploration. They have "interviewed" for classroom jobs and are looking forward to expanding on those classroom jobs. They need hands-on experiences to be prepared for the real world of employment. The time clock will help with teaching time management. We will use the white board to post information about jobs and research that is completed in the classroom.
If they leave my class with only one skill, I hope it is to be the best person that they can be!!
Career exploration is important to start at an early age. My students are in junior high but they need to know what is out there for them. They can't wait until high school to figure out reality. These items will allow me to do just that...teach the realistic expectations of the world outside the walls of the school.
