Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kids come from low socioeconomic homes. Some come from single-parent households; others are raised by grandparents. We even have students who are bused in from the homeless shelter.

My students come in every morning, and, despite everything they have been through, they are eager to learn with smiles on their faces.

I want to continue to build a safe and engaging space for them to learn and grow. My students are hardworking and resilient, but they are plagued by violence. This project will teach them teamwork while fostering a good work ethic.

My Project

I teach a fifth-grade class and their bodies are growing and changing! My class ranges in needs from regular education, mainstreaming emotionally disturbed, ADHD, and autism. Not to mention, my class is in an impoverished area. Giving them access to deodorant, shampoo, soap, and toothbrush set to help them stay up on their hygiene is the goal.

We have had the talk about staying fresh and clean, please help me provide them with materials to make it happen.

I am trying to reinforce the importance of hygiene. Clean bodies and teeth will help them be able to focus on classwork instead of being self-conscious about how they smell!
