Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a classroom of 26 students who are curious and inquisitive learners. Many of them can be labeled as a minority, require special education services, qualify for free or reduced-rate lunch, or go to homes that have very few to no school supplies to support their learning journey. Yet, these labels do not define them or let you truly understand just how amazing my students are.
These students come to school excited to learn and have parents who want them to succeed.
They value their education and get as much support as possible from home to ensure their success. These students emphasize day in and day out why I love to teach so much and work so hard to make sure they succeed to reach all of their goals in life.
I love creating different learning activities for my students, and in doing so, they require a variety of supplies for students to be able to participate. Students will use these materials in a variety of ways. The Post-it notes are used to not only record and anchor our learning, but used to add and edit our writing as we work through the writing process. The colored pencils will help us create art projects and colorful displays of our learning! The pencil boxes will allow students to store all their materials. The colored markers will give each student a personal set of markers for different activities.
