Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every day, my students come in and I get them motivated, by discussing how their learning can be applied to real life situations and jobs. For technology, we discuss what can be accomplished with each lesson and how that can translate into a career or opportunity.

My students, range from 16 to 24, come from low socio-economic status and have been pushed out of the public school system.

Most are also caregivers for their own children. Most of our students live in East Los Angeles and usually have low morale.

My Project

My students need more storage on a computer for programming, web development, android development and video game development. We have many computers available now from a grant. But, we need a computer with larger storage for some more demanding software development programs. We can use this for storing large files, development programs and other assets. Currently, we are using my portable USB hard drive, but that has its limitations.

With this larger secure hard drive, we can store more of our students' work, assets and programs for them to use.

This will help alleviate some of the burdens for our day to day work in technology classes.
