Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an incredible group of 6th-grade special education students who are resilient, curious, and eager to learn. Many of my students face challenges such as reading difficulties or being English learners, but they approach each day with determination and a love for discovery.
This project will transform our classroom reading center into a space that meets their diverse needs.
Flexible seating will allow my active learners to focus and feel comfortable, creating a learning environment that supports their unique ways of engaging with lessons. Expanding our library will ensure students have access to books that reflect their interests, cultures, and reading levels, helping them grow both academically and personally.
My goal is to foster a love of reading and provide a space where students feel encouraged and capable of success. These resources will help my students gain confidence in their abilities, improve their literacy skills, and discover the joy of getting lost in a great story.
