My Students
My classroom is like my students' home-away-from-home. It is a place where I am fostering a love of learning with a sense of independence. My classroom is set up to be a place where my students can learn and feel as though they are somewhere safe.
Our school is the poorest and in one of the most dangerous cities in the U.S.
School is typically the only safe haven these kids know. My students live in a city where the dynamics can change in the blink of an eye. Even though my students live in a city that has its ups and downs, they are always eager to come to school to learn and experience new and exciting things. The students in my class are all classified as "Autistic" and as one student said, "We are all autistic in our own ways." All the students in my building look out for my students and they will give them "high-5s" when they see them. I want to be able to provide my students with every experience that they will need to be successful in this world.
My Project
By including a Cricut machine in my classroom, it will allow my students to increase their creativity skills that they currently possess. My students love to draw and construct various types of drawings, but if they had a Cricut machine, they would be able to design and add new and fascinating designs to their creations.
In my classroom, I encourage my students to express themselves through their art.
My students also find constructing various art projects a great way to show what they have learned in their academic classes. I love to give my students free-time to work on various types of projects that give them great excitement. My students will work hard to complete their various types of work assignments accurately as well as working on the necessary points for extra free-time in our classroom.
The use of a Cricut machine would allow my students to design and enrich their own individual projects, as well as comic books that they personally design. The Cricut machine has various types of tools as well as items that can be used for the students to develop stickers that can be added to whatever project that they are working on.
