This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Even though our school is currently closed... The hearts and minds of my students are wide open! Our students are mainly learning online through interactive lessons that I have designed. They are learning at home with the help of their parents, grandparents, older siblings, aunts, uncles and family friends. They are using desk top computers, laptop computers and even tablets in order to access their learning.
My Project
Even though I have young learners of varying abilities, they each have something important to say about what they have been experiencing. Self-expression is important for all people but especially for young people who may not feel heard. Young kids often get "lost" in the shuffle of life and as a result have no healthy outlet for their myriad of emotions. This project is an attempt to stop that from happening.
Every child has a voice.
That voice deserves to be heard. We already funded one MacBook, however, having another MacBook will allow us to tell our stories more efficiently. It will take a shorter time to complete each story telling project. And when dealing with young learners, time is always of the essence. Each MacBook will for the exclusive use and ownership of the students in the class.
