Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarten is all about learning through play! The Tag School Reader is an interactive reading system that brings books to life. This reading system will make learning fun, while building a strong level of self-confidence for my kindergartners.

I teach 4-5 year olds in a self contained Kindergarten classroom.

My students attend a large public school and come from low income households. Our school qualifies for all students to receive free breakfast and lunch. Most students are learning English as a second language and are attending school for the first time. Not many students have technology at home. Therefore, the tag reading system will be a great way for students to be exposed to technology all the while build crucial literacy skills.

My Project

By purchasing the Tag Reader System and book series' my students will begin the learning process of reading. These Tag readers are also differentiated to meet all of my students' diverse learning needs. For example, students can choose to have read the book to them all the way, or they can read on their own and only chooses the words they can not read to themselves. It will especially help my English learners by providing a model to the English language. These Tag readers will allow my students to be actively engaged in their reading during center time. They will be able to work on their phonics, fluency, decoding skills and phonemic awareness in a fun way which I hope will help motivate them to want to become even better readers.

Kindergarten is one of the first school experiences that children have and that is why it's so important that it is filled with fun memories while at the same time building the necessary skills and academic foundation students will need in order to be successful in the rest of the academic career!

Students need to feel successful while they are reading so that they will want to continue reading. Please help bring my project to life and build life long readers!!
