My Project
Hi, I'm Ms. Jamie, an occupational therapist at a public school in New York City. I work with an incredible group of kids with varying diagnoses and functional skill levels. Many of my students are from low-income families and/or are in temporary and transitional housing. I am blessed to have a dedicated space in our school building to serve as a therapy gym. I share that space with other therapists who work with me to support our kiddos in every possible way! Many of our students have profound sensory needs that impact their ability to learn, play, and participate fully within their school community. We want to change that!
Unfortunately, our beloved swing of 15 years met its end last year and we have been unable to replace it.
Our students need your help! With access to a swing like this, our students will be able to develop, grow, and thrive within their school community-just like they deserve! Your support for this project will ensure that our therapists can provide the most impactful, fun, and up-to-date treatments that not only enrich the lives of our kiddos, but also our school community as a whole!
