My Students
Our class is working hard to learn at our personal levels, and we need support materials help struggling learners!
My students are hardworking, outgoing, and very playful!
They love all forms of technology. More than any other group I've taught, they need learning time to be fun and challenging! We are members of an urban school community working hard to obliterate the achievement gap!
My Project
Everyday we have an Intervention Period designed to provide small groups with time and support to work on skills they are most struggling with. The Math By All Means books and large number line will give me the tools I need to teach those skills with a research proved and effective method.
I already have two Tag readers, and the children with access to them are scaling past the first challenge of becoming readers. They are developing an understanding of words and sounds as parts of written and spoken language. More Tag Readers will allow me to create a Reading center, and expand that exciting learning.
These materials will allow me to help my students reach their amazing potential!
First grade is a pivotal point of a student's education.
Leaving first grade as a confident reader and mathematician is a springboard to success. It is my job to prepare ALL students for academic success. With your help we can get 100% of students who spend a year in Room 101 to achieve that worthy goal- not just this year, but every year!
More than half of students from low‑income households
