it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Dr. Seuss once said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." Help us know more and go far by allowing us to read new and engaging material. My amazing first grade students are bright, motivated, and one-of-a-kind individuals. They put a smile on my face each and every day, and they all enjoy coming to school and succeeding in the classroom. I feel so blessed to be their special education teacher, and I am lucky to work in such a rewarding field.
Although my students enjoying checking out books from our classroom library, the library itself is in a serious need of a makeover.
The books provided for the children offer very little variety in genre as well as ability, and most of the books are old and torn. With a donation of brand new books from various genres and diverse ability levels, the students will definitely be more engaged in the reading process. They will be exposed to new types of literature, which will provide a better range of knowledge on topics. The leveled readers will also provide a much needed sense of independence as the students develop their pre-reading skills. Your help will ensure that my students have access to a variety of engaging literature across genres right at their fingertips.
Having these new books available in our classroom each day will ensure that the children will leave my classroom with the knowledge needed to continue to be successful in the areas of reading and writing. With your generous support, the students' learning will be enhanced during this crucial time of learning, and their love for reading will continue to grow.
