My Project
We have made it halfway through the school year! After evaluating our current stock of classroom supplies, it became clear that we are short on colored pencils, sanitizing wipes, and extra pants and socks.
In our classroom we have a cubby dedicated to extra clothing which desperately needs to be restocked.
Students go there frequently when they spill on themselves, have a bathroom accident, or come to school in clothes that don't fit correctly (all of which happen on a weekly basis). They're able to pick out what they need, take the clothing to the bathroom, change, and come back to class completely independently. Taking care of themselves in this way increases their confidence! We are currently out of pants, t-shirts, and socks so this project will help us restock to meet the students needs.
We also have had a tough run with our colored pencils and pencil sharpener this year. Most kids colored pencils are down to a couple of inches and need to be replaced with fresh ones. An additional sharpener will allow two adults to sharpen simultaneously and reduce the amount of time it takes our classroom adults to sharpen the pencils each week.
