Help Us Stay Healthy In School

My students need travel size toothpaste and toothbrushes, kleenex, chapstick, travel size hand sanitizers and healthy snacks.

My Students

My students are inner city students. I service students from Kindergarten through the eighth grade. We also have a preschool classroom within our school. Many of my students live in the neighborhood and walk to school.

Our school services a large student population both before and after school.

As a result, there are students who are in school as early as 6 AM and as late as 6 PM. All of my students are eligible to receive the school breakfast and lunch for free.

My Project

This year I am hosting a student club called HYPE (Healthy You, Positive Energy). The HYPE students have come up with a variety of items and supplies that students lack. The HYPE students will distribute the supplies from this project to other students as a way to encourage them to take care of themselves and promote a healthy lifestyle. Students will be provided with their own personal size kleenex, lip balm, bandaid holder, toothpaste and toothbrush will help encourage them to take care of themselves and make healthy choices. Also, the snacks will be distributed to students who perhaps forgot to bring a snack to school and have to stay after school for either sports on to attend the after school program.

Our student HYPE group is trying to send the message to the entire student body about the importance of keeping healthy and making good choices.

The supplies from this project will benefit students and encourage them to lead an active and healthy lifestyle. Please help them spread their message!

Also, the nurse needs a thermometer with probe covers so that the students temperature can be assessed when necessary to help ensure students aren't missing valuable class time.
