Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Help us start off our year on the right foot! We are looking for help to set up and beautify our classroom!

Our students are mainly refugees from war-torn countries.

Every student at our school receives free lunch and breakfast and many are struggling with homelessness, hunger and more. We have many different languages in every classroom and students from all over the world learn together.

My Project

I am requesting basic materials that are needed to set up a classroom- things such as name tags, name plates, field trip tags, etc. These are things that I usually go out and purchase myself because our school is underprivileged and we we do not have extra money to purchase materials that are unnecessary. These resources help my students organize their desk area, label important folders within the classroom, and most importantly help to set up our writing wall. My students have name plates with their picture above a writing area where their writing is collected each month so they can flip and see their progress. At the end of the year the name plate decorates that front of their yearly writing portfolio.

This is important to my students success because they do not have the money to purchase basics supplies such as crayons, pencils, etc.

All of our budgeted money is used on the basic supplies and the teacher is left to purchase all the "extra" things that are needed to open and set up a classroom!
