Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like when you were in school? Do you remember what supplies you were required to have in class? The families in my classroom struggle to purchase most of the required materials needed for success in the classroom.
I am about to start my 9th year as a kindergarten teacher at my school.
I teach approximately 20 kindergarten students in a general education classroom at a low-income school in New York City. They are a great group of kids who are extremely inquisitive and want to learn more.
My Project
No school year is as important as Kindergarten! This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning. Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to ensure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school. I have requested multiple boxes of glue sticks. They are used on a daily basis and are a vital part of our everyday learning.
My project is so important to me because kindergarten education has become heavily focused on teaching literacy and other academic skills, but without basic school supplies this task is very difficult.
School is a building which has four walls with tomorrow inside.
