This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The State of Utah has provided us with training in the most up-to-date literacy practices, called the Science of Reading or SoR. I have learned so many amazing skills and strategies that I am eager to implement in my classroom. However, despite all this newly acquired knowledge, we still cannot implement what we've learned. We have not been given commensurate resources to match our learning.
Help my students learn to read in the best way possible.
Direct, systematic instruction, including word work and decodable text, have been proven to be the best way to learn to read. With these gift cards, I will be able to purchase Teacher-created lesson plans and materials that align with best teaching practice. Please help me give my students with disabilities the best chance they can get to learn vital literacy skills.
