My Students
My students mean everything to me. Their drive to always do better amazes me. These materials will give me the opportunity to support the learning in my classroom.
My students come to school each day with a desire to learn.
We lack resources in my school due to budget cuts and funding. We are also a Title I School. Most of our students are economically disadvantaged. This does not stop our students from wanting to learn! They enter the school each day with a smile on their face and excited as to what each day will bring.
My Project
I am requesting materials to help my students become better writers and thinkers. I am looping with my 4th graders and will become their 5th grade teacher next year. I am very excited for next year and would love fresh materials for my students.
The mentor text kit will allow my students to see what makes a great writer.
The mentor text kit includes picture books and reproducibles. The picture books will provide real life examples of great writing. They will be exposed to mentor texts that will inspire them in the classroom. I want my students to learn to appreciate writing and this is a great resource to make this happen! If they love writing they will become better writers.
The project based kit will help to promote higher order thinking skills. This kit includes relevant topics for the kids to research. It also includes what they need to research the topic. So no additional materials are needed! Often kids struggle in this area and this kit will make learning fun. They will be able to research relevant topics in a safe way. The kit comes with everything I need to foster their creativity. If the students are engaged they will absorb more information.
