My Students
Eyes pop, fingers are crossed, and breaths are held in anticipation of what the day will bring. That is the excitement my 20 students have to learn, to grow, and to succeed.
My ethnically diverse, socio-economically diverse, and academically diverse learners live in a wonderful town that has a strong sense of community; however with budget cuts, technology has, sadly, been neglected.
They are hungry to learn and try new things. They want to be challenged and want the opportunity to be creative.
My Project
The Common Core State Standards is in place to get students college and career ready. The CCSS expects students to be self-directed learners that can research and use digital reference materials. Thanks to you, the donors here at DonorsChoose , we will have an iPad to utilize for differentiated learning, research, projects, and more. With the addition of an Apple TV, my students will be able to share their creations with the whole class. Utilizing the Apple TV will allow us to project learning Apps, videos, and more onto a large screen. I envision groups of students utilizing this educational tool during centers--which will enrich their learning and open up a whole new world for them!
This technology will increase student engagement and provide my students with enrichment opportunities.
In addition, my third graders will be able to gain a deeper understanding of the Common Core Standards. The Apple TV will allow us to enhance our learning and provide such valuable experience in our classroom!
