it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My colleague, Mr. Duncan and I, are assisting the first Girl's High School soccer team for Dove Science Academy. Our public charter school is an eclectic mix of middle and high school students working hard to overcome obstacles and to achieve success regardless of their personal situations.
Almost 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced price meals.
We have a 0% drop-out rate and a 100% college acceptance rate. Our dedicated staff takes personal interest in helping our students succeed not only academically but socially and emotionally as well. It is our goal to produce well-balanced, productive young adults that have the tools they need to be responsible, contributing members of society.
My Project
Having new soccer balls and training equipment, my students will be able to learn and improve their soccer skills, while team building. They currently have only a few soccer balls available to them for the soccer practices. Items like the the mini balls would really help my girls improve their ability to enhance their ball handling skills and be competitive on the soccer field.
We hope to instill a good work ethic and understanding of the importance of a healthy life style to our students and this equipment will help us do that.
These materials will provide our students with the opportunity to develop their soccer, team building and life skills.
