My Students
My students are inner-city students in grades sixth, seventh and eighth. We have a very diverse student population. Our school also has a wide range of academic levels. We strive to empower all our students to grow and be the best that they can be.
All of my students are eligible to receive both the school breakfast and lunch daily for free.
Most of our school population takes public transportation. We have 14 after school sports that run throughout the school year.
My Project
Our middle school students really enjoy participating in after school sports and activities. What our boy's and girl's basketball teams need is a scoreboard! Our school gym is used to host a majority of the basketball games because we have two full-size gyms. What our program is lacking is a scoreboard to keep track of the points and run the clock on.
The scoreboard will help advance our school basketball programs.
Our basketball coaches have stated that the addition of a new scoreboard would allow the spectators who come in to watch the basketball games see the score and how much time remains in the game.
