Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Save a tree! Students can easily write their answers, show their thinking, and share their work by writing on dry erase boards and dry erase pockets instead of using lots of paper throughout the year.

I work with 7th grade students that have a variety of special needs.

My students are caring and helpful and just need a little extra support in what they are learning, how they learn, and and the materials they use to learn. Unfortunately due to budget cuts, the Title 1 school they attend can not afford to buy all the necessary materials they need to do their best and neither can their families as they live in high poverty areas. They really enjoy working in a variety of ways, especially when they do not have to write on white lined paper. Using dry erase boards and/or dry erase pockets will make them more excited about their learning.

My Project

Using dry erase boards, students will be able to solve math problems and easily share them with the class. It can be very frustrating to students that constantly make mistakes to erase on white paper, then the paper becomes sloppy and even rips. When they practice skills, it is easier to use dry erase boards and markers as they can easily make changes and others can it. They really enjoy using the dry erase boards, however at this time there is only one large one for the class to use, not individual ones. The only way to use the dry erase boards is by using dry erase markers which we only have a few and the ink is drying up.

Your donations will help my students learn not only in math but will be used in some of their other classes as well.

It will provide them with a 'change' in their learning. The students are always so much more motivated to learn and complete their work when there is a different way to complete it.
