My students need sensory materials and a soft mat to keep them safe when exploring with the materials.

My Students
My students have Autism Spectrum Disorders. All of them have unique ways of learning. They also have different things that motivate them to do their best. Some students love working with hands-on tasks. Some students love writing tasks. Others love completing tasks on the computer.
Our school is located in a low-income neighborhood.
Our students have a very good attendance rate. They love coming to school. We have some resources to engage them, but much more is needed. My students needs resources that will engage them as well as help them make academic progress.
My Project
Many of my students will benefit from sensory integration in their daily routine. Because of their special needs, many of my students seeks ways to satisfy their sensory needs by squeezing, grabbing, and hugging people and objects. Such behavior is not always appropriate or safe, therefore, my students need appropriate materials to meet their sensory needs. When students are able to get their sensory needs met, they become calmer and are better able to regulate themselves. Students with disabilities benefit highly from tactile objects as well as objects that are bright and visual. The materials that I am requesting are will also help regulate students when they need social breaks.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
