Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
A really important part of student success comes from whether they feel comfortable in the environment in which they learn. Is their classroom vibrant and colorful? Are there areas in the room that they can relax, build, and explore in?
My students are a group of eager and curious six year olds.
My students come to school each day ready to learn and each day they amaze me with their love for learning and what they can do. My school is a high needs school located in a high needs area of the city.
My Project
With the materials requested, I can begin to transform my classroom into a place where students can feel comfortable lounging and reading and/or delving into 2nd grade and beyond Stem-related activities. The beanbags will create a comfy place in the room to get lost in a good book, the STEM kits will help bring more problem based learning into the room, the storage bins will help me organize the fun centers I have created throughout the year, while the pencils, grips, and caddies will allow me to continue to support students writing development. Students will get the opportunity to get the most out of our revamped classroom for the remaining time in school and the incoming kindergartners will have the chance to use them as well-with the impact going beyond one cohort of students but instead, any student that walks into my classroom thereafter.
Any donation to my project will help to ensure that my students are given every and all opportunities needed to succeed and fall in love with the classroom environment in which they learn in daily.
Students will forever remember their kindergarten experience as a memorable one!
