it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our kindergarten class, we are learning so much! We learn to read, write, and do math. One of the most important things we learn is to regulate our emotions.
In class this year I want to help my class regulate their emotions by having a place for them to go when they need to calm down.
I am asking for a chair that they sit in when upset.
When children are upset they need a place and things to do that will help them calm down. The items that I have asked for will give them a place to go. I have things in my room to help them calm but I wanted to add the water drawing kit because I have seen this work with other kids.
I also want them to be able to identify their emotions. This gives them power in their emotion and allows them to better work with that emotion.
Our kids are coming to kindergarten with less and less regulation. As a teacher, I spend almost half the year helping the students to deal with emotions. I want this project to help me help them.
