My Students
My fifth graders are such a wonderful and enthusiastic bunch of kids. Their eagerness for learning and love of discovering new things makes me want to provide them with the best learning experiences that I can.
85% of my students qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch.
My 5th grade students are from a rural county in South Carolina. Our school only houses 5th and 6th graders. We have about 700 students total. Some of our students have never traveled beyond the county lines.
My Project
Students will be able to share their math skills using their own voice on Seesaw. Seesaw is a student driven digital portfolios and provides simple parent communication. Students can create collages, voice recordings, take pictures and respond to each other using the Seesaw app.
Not all students are comfortable standing in front of their peers and communicating their knowledge.
The Seesaw program allows them to record their knowledge for others to hear and see.
Students can show their work and thought processes in real time by submitting a video of themselves working through a math problem, snapping a picture of a paragraph they wrote, recording themselves reading a poem, or uploading a file to demonstrate their learning. It encourages kids to submit a series of images along with notes that tell the story that connects them.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
