This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
WE aRe the littlest little RoCkStArS in the universe!!! We are also a kindergarten classroom looking for donations to release our children's CD!! We are located in a HIGH POVERTY area in Northern California. We are all so very musical, and our teacher, who is a guitar and fiddle player, has helped us record a professional children's CD . She has paid for all the recording and is asking for your help to reproduce the recording onto CD's!! We are the sweetest singing little kindergarten class around. Our teacher has written a bunch of songs we sing every morning in order to learn so many things. She has had us sing on the CD with songs we learn from everyday!
The situation is this: our kindergarten teacher who is also a professional musician started to record all her songs with us in the classroom with the help of a sound and recording engineer. We come from a very high poverty school and she got an idea that if she gets these CD's made, she will be able to sell the CD's in order to get more supplies, and also give to the students to take home, so they may learn all the important things we need to learn in kindergarten. The songs are about: letter sounds, days of the week, months of the year, believing in yourself, funny songs, cultural songs, chicken, cats, phonemic awareness, counting, and much more!
Our teacher who has three of her own children has written children's songs for years and has spent a lot of money already recording the CD. She wants help with replicating the children's CD so we all can go home every night and learn from it, and use future CD sales for buying things for our classroom and school. We do not have a PTA, or other funding, so she thought this would be the best way to raise money awareness while teaching and reaching so many children in a positive musical way. So many of the students have very hard lives and they will be able to take this CD home and learn while they are away from the classroom.
We know this money is a lot. But we are asking for donations towards this amazing project. If you donate, no matter how small, your name or company will be mentioned in the liner notes (if you would like). We want to show everyone what altruistic people are out there. We are a small little bunch of kindergarteners, but we are out here to prove and show how the power of music can help and shape learning.
