I have general and special education students. My students have a love for reading, but do not have enough resources to facilitate good reading habits. Many of my students are struggling with reading and the LeapFrog Tag readers and the Tag readers' books will help strengthen their reading skills.
I teach general and special education students in a Title I school in Brooklyn, NY.
My students with disabilities benefit from visual and auditory aids. Many of my students are struggling with reading and the LeapFrog Tag reading system will encourage them to keep reading.
My students were born into an era where technology is all around them. It seems that every time you turn around, there are advancements and machinery making lives easier. So why not make learning how to read easier, too? I want to use technology to aid in my students’ learning. The LeapFrog hand held "reader", called the Tag, actually reads words that are on the pages of books. Students are then able to follow along as they point the wand over the words.
My Project
I am requesting the LeapFrog Tag reading system. It includes a hand held "reader", called a Tag reader. The tag is like a "magic" wand that actually reads words that are on the pages of books when students touch the words. Students are also able to follow along as they point the pen over the words. This Tag Reading system will help my students develop confidence while reading independently. I am also requesting books that go along with the Tag reader so that my students can have various books to choose from.
Reading is fundamental.
It is a very important part of everyday life. I want to offer my students as many opportunities as possible to develop strong reading skills early on in their lives. The LeapFrog Tag Reading System and the LeapFrog Tag books will encourage independent reading for my students and make reading fun for them.
