My students need a variety of amazing biography chapter books for history hungry readers.

My Students

My classroom is a wonderful mix of multicultural boys and girls, with different socioeconomic backgrounds.

They are also diverse in reading abilities. I would love my classroom library to have these great "Who Was..." books to challenge my striving readers and have my struggling and grade level readers be able to partner read. These biographies are an exciting way to introduce biographies. They will be used in Reader's Workshop (individual reading), partner reading, and read alouds (whole class).

My Project

These great "Who Was..." books will let my struggling and grade level readers be able to partner read and challenge my striving readers. I also teach a big social studies unit on Ancestors. My students will write mini-biographies during the unit. The "Who Was..." books will also be used as "mentor text" and as great writing examples in Writer's Workshop. These books will be read in class and read at home. They will be used this year and for years to come!

What a wonderful way to learn about amazing women and men than through "Who Was..." biographies.

So many of the people in these biographies over came obstacles and became the best they could be! These books will help inspire my second grade students to be the best that they can be, too! Thank you for your generosity in supporting public education! You are making a huge difference in our lives! Thank You!
