Help Us Re-group and Re-focus!

Help me give my students items that will give them the sensory input they require to regroup and refocus. These items will be used to provide sensory stimulation as well as assist fine and gross motor skills.

My Students

My students are in Kindergarten through Second Grade and are in an Autistic Support Classroom. Our school is a Title I school located in Pittsburgh. My students are adorable, creative, and curious. They are also highly energetic and have significant sensory needs.

My Project

I previously taught First Grade and this is my first year teaching Autistic Support and I am working on trying to obtain items that can be beneficial to my students. These materials will help my students because it will provide them with items that can give them sensory stimulation.. The tongs and tweezers can be used with water beads or other items to help them develop their fine motor skills so they can learn to write, fasten their jackets, and use scissors. The larger items such as the climbing mats can help them further develop their gross motor skills and provide them with ways to burn off excess energy and help them complete work tasks and focus to learn new skills.
