My Students
I work with great students that come to school eager to learn putting aside the many community and family struggles that they face outside of the school day. My students show up at school with a smile on their face. They come to school sharing their love for people, their energy and above all their life experiences and learnings that they have endured. Many of my students see school as the one consistent factor in their lives. Here they know they will be excepted for who they are, they will be feed, taught and guided. Here they will feel loved and encouraged but most of all they will be able to shine and have a place to express themselves and to show off all the creative, determination that my students carry.
My Project
My project is to design and provide a classroom that is comfortable and encourages organization. My students are expected to study hard and practice reading daily. A classroom rug would help provide comfort in the library area allowing students to be able to study and read in comfort. The photo boxes will have games or activity inside that focus on a skill or learning target. Students will be able to grab the boxes when they have extra time and practice a skill or learning target that they have not yet mastered. A colored rolling cart to help organize materials by small groups for reading and math materials. This will help students to know where to find materials at their level and that will help them improve the skills they are currently working on mastering.
