We are hoping to create a more calming classroom environment for children in our special education Pre-K classroom. Some of our students have sensory processing challenges, and research shows that a calming classroom environment significantly benefits students by reducing stress and anxiety, enhancing focus, supporting emotional regulation, and ultimately fostering a space for children to feel more comfortable.
This whole group rug will greatly support the efforts that we are making to create a calm, nurturing space where students feel safe.
Currently, our school provides an older rug with bright colors, which we have found to be distracting and counterproductive to students progression towards maintaining focus and self-regulation.
We hope that you can support our efforts in giving students the best opportunity to meet their goals, by developing an environment that is suited to their unique needs.
